Borneo FC's marquee player, Shane Smeltz will possibly miss the matches with Borneo FC for some weeks. Smeltz has been called up for joining the national team of New Zealand in the qualification match of 2018 FIFA World Cup against Solomon Islands on September 2nd, 2017.

Borneo FC's Secretary, Ridhotya Warman has confirmed that news. However, the certainty about this news will be decided on tomorrow afternoon (Friday, 8/25).

"We have heard that Smeltz will be called up for New Zealand national team long time ago. But the final decision will be decided Friday afternoon." said Ridho.

If Shane Smeltz's name is on the line up of New Zealand national team, it means that this is the second time for Smeltz to join the national team and leaves Borneo FC temporarily.

Previously, in the Russian Confederation Cup, Shane Smeltz also joined the All White squad. Unfortunately, New Zealand was lost to the host of the competition, Russia. And then New Zealand was defeated 2-1 by Mexico and also was defeated 4-0 by Portugal. (DMZ/KOK)
