Ahead of the home match against Persela Lamongan, on Thursday (10/19), Borneo FC Samarinda has confirmed that they will be without full strength. Leonard Tupamahu must be absent due to cards accumulation.

The 34-year-old player with a wealth of experience is one of the important figures in the Borneo FC defense this season. Collecting 1,599 minutes of play, he has two roles, they are as a stoper and in the right back.

Without Leonard, Pesut Etam certainly did not lose spurs at Stadium Segiri. The strange figure of Matheus Lopes is ready to play after being sidelined for punishment.

"Asri Akbar and Matheus can join in. We need both power against Persela," said Ahmad Amiruddin, the assistant coach of Borneo FC.

Leonard who previously duet with Kunihiro Yamashita certainly changed with Matheus. While Asri projected again to be the tandem for Flavio Beck Junior in midfield.

While in the left and right defense, there are still Abdul Rachman and Diego Michiels. Both performed well in the last two games. "Our defense in the last two games is pretty good, although there is a conceded but we did not lose," added Amir, greeting.

Winning 3-2 from PSM Makassar and 1-1 contra Madura United series, just add to the team's confidence. Coupled with the status as the home team, hosting Persela will certainly be easier.

Strong in defense, is the main focus now. Amir said there should be a goal against Persela if you want to win. "We maximize the practice by routinely performing simulation matches. The finishing touch drill also done to be more sharp," said Amir.

In the training session at the Segiri Stadium yesterday, the squad is not complete. Wahyudi Hamisi and Dinan Javier are still absent due to injury. (RIB/KOK)
