A high tension match presented in the week 31 of 2017 Go-Jek Traveloka Liga 1 between Mitra Kukar versus Borneo FC Samarinda. In the Mahakam Derby that was held at Aji Imbut Stadium, Tenggarong, on Monday (10/23). Borneo successfully beat the home team 4-0.

Borneo FC Samarinda appeared so offensive from the kick off. Lerby Eliandry scored the opening goal for Pesut Etam through a goal in the 39th minute of the match. Before of the half time's break, Lerby doubled Borneo's lead. 2-0 position for the visitors to survive until the first half ended.

In the second half, the match tensed up. The match referee, Jerry Elly expelled two players involved in the commotion, they were Mohamed Sissoko and Firdaus Ramadan. Firdaus was asked to leave the pitch after receiving a second yellow card. While Sissoko got a straight red card.

Leading 2-0, Borneo FC Samarinda increased their offense to the home team. Deadly counterattack successfully built by Iwan Setiawan's team. In the 71st minute, Terens Puhiri widened the distance to 3-0 after passing two defender Borneo FC Samarinda.

Mitra Kukar was getting depressed. Again, the counter-attack of Borneo FC made the back line of the Naga Mekes team dithered. Riswan Yusman broke into the hosts' goal for the fourth time after accelerating from the left sector. Septian David Maulana was trying to minimize lag. But the shoot could still be secured by Muhammad Ridho.

Toward the end of the match, the tension of both teams rose again. The referee again had to give a red card. This time it was the turn of the Marquee player of Borneo FC Samarinda, Shane Smeltz who received a second yellow card.
