Given two red cards in the match against Mitra Kukar three days ago, Borneo FC Samarinda squad was forced to park their players, Firdaus Ramadan and Shane Smeltz. Both players are absent in their home match against Persija Jakarta at Segiri Stadium, on Saturday (10/28).

Firdaus was sent off by the referee, Jerry Elly on the 60th minute and Smeltz (91 '). The absence of these two players is quite unfortunate because they hold important roles in the last few matches of Pesut Etam.

"Smeltz and Firdaus always enter the line up, both as starter and substitute player, that fact is enough to hurt the team with a red card earned both," said Ahmad Amiruddin, the Assistant Coach of Borneo FC Samarinda.

The man who is familiarly called Amir added that, without Firdaus his team still has a lot of good midfield stock. But the poor in the back sector when Leonard Tupamahu, Matheus Lopes, and Kunihiro Yamashita appear together. "Firdaus can perform in many positions. His role in this season is good and flexible," explained Amir.

While on the front lines, the absence of Smeltz forced Lerby to fight alone. The figure of the two players who is typical of pure striker, making one of them often alternately played as a starter. But the option to make both of them play together in the match against Persija certainly impossible.

"Smeltz with his status as a foreign player can actually make the opponent afraid, but anyway, we must keep maximizing another players. Three points must be obtained," added Amir.

Although without Smeltz and Firdaus, Pesut Etam still very confident ahead of the match against Persija. In their last four matches, Borneo FC Samarinda managed to reap positive results without defeat once. "Mentally the boys are good, we take advantage of this moment to get good results again, moreover our next match will be played at home," he concluded. (RIB/KOK)
