In the competition of 2017 Go-Jek Traveloka Liga 1, Borneo FC Samarinda has at least been handled by three coaches, including Dragan Djukanovic, Ricky Nelson and Iwan Setiawan.

Each coach also has their own character which influenced to the different playing style of the Borneo FC Samarinda squad. The fact makes it hard for the opponent to guess what strategy to be used by Borneo FC Samarinda.

Regarding to the recent condition of the team, Borneo FC Samarinda's captain, Ponaryo Astaman who now serves as assistant coach saw that the replacement of coach position in Borneo FC Samarinda will automatically make many changes.

"But I see the players still look good, especially in the second round, their performance have much more improved," said him.

Popon was hoping in the remaining three matches of Borneo FC Samarinda, the team's performance will be better, so the target through the top five of the final standings can be achieved. "Our target at the beginning of the season should be on the top table, we must keep the spirit of chasing that ambition," added this Balikpapan-born coach.

Related to his future next season, Popon did not want to think about that yet. Because, recently he wants to focus on completing the coaching course which ends in December. "Borneo FC Samarinda still be my priority, but for now I haven't think about it," he concluded. (RIB/AHS/KOK)
