Two Borneo FC's Goalkeepers Dissappointed

The sad news came from the Italian national team. Gli Azzurri who failed to qualify for the 2018 World Cup in Russia, after being held 0-0 by Sweden, at the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza, Tuesday (14/11/2017).


The failure of Italy to qualify for the World Cup finals is the first time since 1958. Though Italy had the title of World Cup champion 4 times.


Gli Azzuri won the World Cup in 1934, 1938, 1982, and 2006. The failure of Italy to the 2018 World Cup not only bring sorrow to the public of the Pizza country. Borneo FC's goalkeeper, Muhammad Ridho also felt sad and disappointed with the results achieved by Italy.


Muhammad Ridho, goalkeepers from Pekalongan, Central Java is a big fan of the Italian national team since childhood. He was disappointed not to see his idol team compete in the World Cup next year.


"Sad and very disappointed, Italy have a lot of great players but they do not qualify for next year's World Cup, I do not think it's interesting if the World Cup does not have Italy, they're four times world champions," Ridho said.


Ridho became more sad because he have to witness when his idol goalkeeper, Gianluigi Buffon cried in front of the camera due to fail to bring his national team qualify for the World Cup.


Along with that, Buffon also announced the retirement of the Italian national team and ended his adventure in the national team with a sad story. Ridho was no longer able to see his idol appear clad in Italian jersey.


"I'm really sad for the best goalkeeper, the legendary goalkeeper did not qualify for the World Cup, but sadly, Super Gigi (Buffon) ended his (retirement) career in Italy with a World Cup qualifier," said the Borneo FC's goalkeeper.


Ridho has been a fan of Buffon and the Italian team for a long time.
Even as a child, Ridho always see Buffon appear under the crossbar Gli Azzuri. "It's hard to imagine the Italian team without Buffon and the World Cup without Italy," he said.


Buffon recorded as the player with the most number of appearances in history, which is 175 matches. Buffon also contributed to bring Italy to the second place in Euro 2012, ranked third position in the 2013 Confederation Cup, and the 2006 World Cup title.


Besides Ridho, young goalkeeper of Borneo FC, Gianluca Pandeywunu also felt the sadness. Gian who is currently preparing to melakoni Round 2 League 2 with PSPS Pekanbaru did not believe Buffon and Italy failed to compete in the World Cup.


"It's really sad, as a goalkeeper I also idolizing Buffon, the living legend of a tremendous goalkeeper in my career as a football player," he concluded. (DMZ/KOK)
